step up day for frankie

Frankie is so proud to be a kindergartener (almost). Well, considering yesterday was step up day, she considers herself now officially a Marble Muscrat!
And, while we were at Marble, we saw this great piece of artwork hanging in the wall! If you take a close look at the picture you will see the artists signature!

Athlete of the week....

Goes to Bee! She's done 10 miles so far in the Marble Mileage Club. That earned her a spot on the mileage club board in the main hallway of the school. Her first grade classroom is in 3rd place for the whole school! Beginning about 5 and a half weeks ago, every M-W-F at last recess the kids have the option of running laps around the field (1/4 mile per lap). Each lap they get their club card punched. Twenty punches = 5 miles or 1 toe token. Mileage club ends at the end of the month. We told her if she ran 15 miles (that equals 3 punch cards) she would earn her first American Girl Doll. (She has been asking for one for over a year and all of her friends have one). She has been plugging away at the miles. We picked a hard goal but one that is not impossible. She averages 3 laps a day, but lately has been doing 4. It is really is a nail biter. She has about 4 days of mileage club left and needs to do 11 more laps, and we know she can do it, if it doesnt rain...GO BEE GO!!!

She's done what no other bartobreezy dog has done before...

... Cho Cho has passed her Canine Good Citizen's Dog test last night, and on her first try! And, dare we say, she performed the best of all of the doggies! The teacher kept saying, "wow, excellent!". We think her best performance came in the sit, down & stay. There were about 20 dogs in the room (so the audience pressure was tough!). After the stay command, most of the people would slowly back away from their dog repeating stay over and over (you had to walk 20 feet away). Not the Cho. After stay, we just turned around and walked away to the 20 ft mark, then turned around. It was like a triple axle triple salchow toe loop quad jump of the puppy world. The heel without tugging on the leash was a bit shakey but she pulled it out in the end. Lets also just say the test would not be complete without Bee and Frankie who ran immediately out to the center of the room when the teacher asked for "crowd volunteers" for the walk your dog through a crowd test. Bee and Frankie passed that test too. ha ha.
